Michael MorinMICHAEL MORIN

Michael Morin is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Finnegan Henderson Farabow & Dunner where he specializes in patent litigation at both the trial and appellate court levels.

Mr. Morin has extensive experience in all aspects of patent litigation. For example, he has examined and cross-examined key expert and fact witnesses in numerous jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations. Mr. Morin has briefed and argued many claim construction and summary judgment motions, and often has primary day-to-day responsibility for overseeing litigation teams. Mr. Morin also has an active practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

While Mr. Morin’s cases have involved a wide range of technical subjects, he has particular expertise in medical device technology. He also focuses on patent damages issues, and has had primary responsibility for the damages portions of a number of high-exposure cases.

In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Morin regularly advises clients in licensing and settlement negotiations, renders opinions advising clients of their legal positions and responsibilities, and assists clients in procuring patent protection. He has lectured in the United States, Europe, and the Far East on U.S. litigation practice and procedure and has written several articles on issues relating to patent law.

While Mr. Morin devotes the majority of his time to patent-related matters, he also devotes a considerable amount of time to pro bono activities, representing clients in both civil and criminal matters.
