Mary KennedyMARY KENNEDY

Mary Kennedy is the Trial Training Counsel at Arnold & Porter, LLP, a position she has held since March, 2006. Before coming to the firm, Ms. Kennedy held a similar position at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow Garrett & Dunner, LLP for five years. Before that, Ms. Kennedy was with the Federal Defender Training Group where she spent two years training federal defenders and court-appointed lawyers in federal criminal cases around the country. From 1987 to 1998, Ms. Kennedy worked at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia representing juvenile and adult clients at all stages of the criminal justice system. For four years she was the Training Director for the agency with responsibility both for the new PDS lawyers and court-appointed lawyers in the District of Columbia. She earned a JD from New York University in 1980 and an LLM in Trial Advocacy from Georgetown University Law Center in 1984. Ms. Kennedy is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and she teaches at trial
advocacy programs around the country.
