John Beadle HoltJOHN BEADLE HOLT

John graduated third in his class from the United States Naval Academy and later Vanderbilt University Law School . As a naval judge advocate, John engaged in 14 years of balanced litigation experience prosecuting and defending both trial and appellate military cases. Specially appointed by Navy Judge Advocate General as lead counsel in an historic death penalty case, John orally argued the first appellate case televised live from federal court.

Since 1992, John has had the privilege to serve in the chambers several judges at the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in Washington , D.C. He has served as a Commissioner to The Honorable Chief Judge H. F. “Sparky” Gierke (1996-2006), The Honorable Chief Judge Walter T. Cox, III (1995-1996), and The Honorable Judge Robert E. Wiss (1992-1995).

In addition, John is an adjunct professor of law at two law schools. For the last 11 years, John has been a Professorial Lecturer in Law teaching Trial Advocacy at the George Washington University Law School . Since 2002, he has served as a Lecturer teaching Trial Practice, Advanced Trial Practice, and Military Law at the Columbus School of Law of The Catholic University of America. In 2004, he was recognized by the Student Bar Association at Columbus School of law as the Best Adjunct Professor. Finally, John is owner of Barrister's Maryland Bar Review and since 1991 has instructed and tutored hundreds of successful candidates for the Maryland Bar Examination.

His bar admissions include: the Supreme Court of the United States ; the United States Court of Military Appeals; the Maryland Court of Appeals; and the Tennessee Supreme Court.
